Aztec calendar, mayan calendar, I just don't know anymore!!

While researching to find out if Davis Bradley's excellent reproduction of the famous Tenochtitlan "Sun Stone" is Mayan or Aztec, I've learned some fun things about it. Apparently, no one can agree on exactly how it's read. There are discrepancies from the Spanish conquistadors right through to modern scholars as well as variations in local customs. Chronologically, the Maya seem to be a much older culture than the Aztec, although the Mayan calendar is supposedly based on the less precise Aztec calendar. As I write this, I continue to read new sites and searches attempting to find credible answers and information, but I am only finding more contradictions and inconsistencies. There seem to be many puzzling facets to this thing, some not at ll noteworthy, and some that are outright disturbing. Astronomically, a lot of things seem to coincide cleanly with some translations of the calendar, but in some cases we should have long since felt the effects of anything cataclysmic happening. It's an argument I've made many times before, we assume a lot of things about how the cosmos works, some things seem mathematically to make a lot of sense, but until we've physically been there and applied the scientific method, we don't know for certain what is the temperature of the sun or the direction in which the Milky Way rotates. I believe the mysteries of Human history are subject to the same thinking.

Microslut

Just finished uploading the music videos to Microslut and The Gutterpop Song from the Morbid Nutsac movie, "Escape from Figg Shopp" A shortened version of the movie will be on YouTube by mid- February, in tandem with a longer director's cut version which will be available for free at the Germicidal Ink Store. Also be on the lookout for a youtube release of "Enter the 3d6 Chambers of Death", the premiere single by my new hip-hop project, "Forgotten Rhymes", hopefully online and alive by mid- March. OK, you watch the videos, i have to figure out a cover for the movie...

How will you spend your last days?

So it just started gearing up in my head again, "This is it, the last year of human existence." And how will i be spending the last moments of my life? Do i even believe that this is really going to happen? Now with the emergence of what i consider to be the most important thing i've ever done, that being my BIOTS toys, i really don't like the idea of not being being able to see it to fruition. I suppose it is not my place to question the grand design, but i think we're all just a little bit entitled to be bitter about it. Maybe we are spoiled by our technological achievements, but seeing the pinnacle of progress and then it's subsequent immediate demise really is a bit of a pisser. Thanks a lot, God.
On the other hand, if the whole thing is just a bunch of astrological hooey, then i feel i'm certain i'll get a few more years to work on my toys before pollution kills us all more slowly and painfully.
So what will you do with your time? Will you live like there is no tomorrow, partying it up, drinking and fucking until the comet comes, or will you live prudently, shushing away the idea as mere poppycock, and continuing to save for a day that may never come? I really can't decide which is better.
I used to live like there was no tomorrow, but tomorrow kept coming, and bringing new hangovers and problems as i put it off. I don't know if i'm just partying on the sensation, or planning for an unachievable future, but sculpting these things is about the most fulfilling thing i've ever done, and if these be my last moments, i can know i'll die doing what i loved most: shunning adulthood and being a big kid :)

I miss Nate's

This tattoo is entirely unrelated to Nate's Taco Truck Stop, but it's going to be the post for the evening because i am rather proud of this tattoo. I had drawn a picture for Nate's, a local Jackson Ward carry out diner, that has mysteriously closed down, despite being frequently busy. It was something of a coincidence that shortly after drawing a picture of a taco for them, that a random customer would walk in off the street and ask for a taco tattoo.
Also but a lonely speck of memory is Vito's, an Italian restaurant on VCU campus that shut down ahead of it's time. Vito's was my favorite Italian food in town, despite being owned and operated by a family of Mexicans. This is why it is of little difference to me that Nate's was a delicious Mexican food joint run by white guys. All that aside, i really miss that place, that magical dream land of chicken skin tacos...

New card for the first BIOTS card game
